Migration requires accurate data to understand its dimensions and design effective policies to address it. ESCWA, in collaboration with the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics (AITRS), organized a training workshop on “Migration Statistics in the Digital Age”.

The workshop, held from 19 to 21 May, aimed at strengthening the capacities of staff working in Arab national statistical offices in analysing migration data and statistics, whether collected through population censuses or household surveys.

In the same context, ESCWA, the United Nations Population Fund Regional Office for Arab States (UNFPA), AITRS, and other partners organized in Amman a regional workshop to strengthen the capacities of national statistical offices and national statistics systems in the field of census thematic analysis for enhanced data utilization.
