System of National Accounts 2025 and Digital Supply and Use Table Compilation

ESCWA and the Arab Monetary Fund, in collaboration with the United Nations Statistics Division, the Arab Institute for Training and Research in Statistics, the International Monetary Fund, and the League of Arab States, are organizing a workshop on the main features of the System of National Accounts (2025 SNA) and the road map for its implementation.
The System of National Accounts 2025 (2025 SNA) is the new international statistical standard for national accounts. It is an update of the 2008 SNA, and includes new economic developments such as globalization and digitalization.
This first regional workshop aims to develop the following capacities among the participating countries:
- Increase understanding of the main features and policy relevance of the 2025 SNA within the context of the Arab region, including well-being and sustainability, Islamic Finance, and the new developments in globalization and digitalization statistics, especially in the digital economy statistics.
- Enhance capacity for compiling Digital Supply and Use Tables (DSUTs) to better measure the digital economy and inform sectoral policies related to digitalization.
- Develop a road map for the implementation of the 2025 SNA in the Arab region and its subregions.
