Digital Trade Regulatory Integration in ASEAN: Launch of ESCAP-ASEC Digital Trade Regulatory Review for ASEAN, 2025

To support the objectives of the AEC Blueprint and inform the implementation of the ASEAN Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), ESCAP and the ASEAN Secretariat have jointly developed a focused analytical study. This study, Digital Trade Regulatory Review for ASEAN, 2025, uses the ESCAP-ECA-ECLAC Regional Digital Trade Integration Index (RDTII) database to specifically assess the regulatory openness, alignment, and progress within the ASEAN subregion.

This online session will officially launch this ESCAP-ASEC report, which will serve as the basis for an expert panel discussion on how targeted regulatory alignment can accelerate digital trade, enhance regional value chain resilience, and promote inclusive economic growth across Southeast Asia. The session will also highlight subregional best practices and identify key opportunities for further digital integration within ASEAN.
