OVERVIEW

The launch of the UN Global Survey on Digital and Sustainable Trade Facilitation 2025 celebrates continued global progress in advancing digital and sustainable trade facilitation. First introduced in 2015, the biennial Survey is led by the United Nations Regional Commissions and UNCTAD, in close collaboration with regional and international partners.

In its latest edition, the 2025 Survey provides an updated, cross-country comparative analysis for over 160 countries worldwide based on 62 key trade facilitation measures. Its invaluable insights empower countries and development partners to develop evidence-based strategies and policies, foster the exchange of exemplary and innovative practices, and identify requirements for capacity-building and technical assistance. The survey expands on measures beyond the WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and incorporates cutting-edge paperless and cross-border trade facilitation measures, as well as those encouraging more inclusive and sustainable trade.

This launch event will present progress made towards digital and sustainable trade facilitation globally and in the five regions and will explore pathways forward to apply the findings and recommendations emerging from the survey, including perspectives from the private sector.

Further information along with previous survey results and reports, are available on its interactive website at untfsurvey.org.
