ITC highlights sustainability for small business at conference Armenia

The International CMC Conference, the world’s top event for management consultants, took place in Armenia for the first time, from 7 to 11 October in Yerevan. The International Trade Centre (ITC) actively participated, with keynote speaker Joseph Wozniak discussing the future of compliance, sustainability, and digitalization.

Representatives of leading consulting firms and distinguished speakers from around the world came to Armenia for the conference.

The conference was designed for management consultants, business support organizations, and other business representatives.

The event discussed digitalization, innovation, environment and sustainability.

Traceability and digitalization in business

Joseph Wozniak, who leads the Trade for Sustainable Development programme at ITC, gave a keynote speech on ‘Traceability and Digitalization: The Future of Compliance, Sustainability, and Due Diligence in Business’. His work takes place within the framework of the EU-funded Building Sustainable Apparel and Agribusiness Value Chains in Armenia Project implemented by ITC in Armenia.

He also led a master class on the ITC Standards Map, which includes essential, credible information on environmental protection, labour rights, economic development, and business ethics. It particularly helps small businesses in developing countries navigate sustainability requirements.

Wozniak showed how the Sustainability Map can guide small businesses on how to progress toward their sustainability goals. It aggregates sustainability information and presents it in a clear, user-friendly way, making it easier for businesses to commit to sustainable practices.

ITC, the UN small business agency, works with entrepreneurs to improve social and environmental sustainability. ITC runs seminars, advisory services and offers other support to make it easier to meet sustainability requirements in global trade.
