Committee on Technology for Development, 4th session

The Committee on Technology for Development is holding its fourth session in Beirut on 14 and 15 November 2022.

It will follow up on progress in technology-related activities in member States and the ESCWA secretariat since its previous session, which was held online on 15 and 16 February 2021. The Committee will also discuss opportunities and challenges associated with the metaverse; a project on enhancing the enabling environment for tech-driven entrepreneurship; the use of technology and innovation for enhanced operations in Arab public institutions; and the Arab States action programme on advancing digital cooperation and digital development in the next five years.

As part of its proceedings, the Committee will also hold a joint session with the ESCWA Statistical Committee, on 15 and 16 November, entitled “Data management modernization using new technologies”.
