Greening through Digitalization: Climate Smart Trade Facilitation in Practice
As countries seek to align trade facilitation reforms with climate commitments and sustainability, practical tools are needed to translate ambition into measurable action. This hybrid session will showcase the UN Climate-Smart Trade Facilitation Tool, which supports governments in identifying trade procedures with environmental impact, quantifying emissions linked to processes, and designing targeted evidence-based reforms.
Drawing on country experience, digital customs systems, and sustainability data initiatives, the session aims to explore how climate-smart approaches can be scaled in practice and how collaboration can support future implementation.
This event is part of the Asia Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum x Paperless Trade Week 2026 (APTFF x PTW 2026), co-organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
