Description

The course aims at helping learners to master the core components of the ITU Digital Skills Toolkit 2024 and to be able to design a national digital skills strategy roadmap based on the recommendations of the Digital Skills Toolkit, with the objective to develop or improve their national digital skills policies and programmes.

Target population

Policy makers, government officials and other stakeholders involved in developing national policies and programmes for digital skills development.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:  

  • Examine the important role of national digital skill elements in national digital transformation strategies, including the development of digital skills for life and digital skills for work.     
  • Outline digital skills concepts and frameworks and identify their key competencies, specifically those included in the EU DigComp Framework 
  • Apply the recommendations included in the Toolkit 
  • Develop a detailed national roadmap for creating and monitoring a national digital skills strategy based on the steps included in the Toolkit 

Methodology

The training will take an interactive approach to apply core concepts of the ITU Digital Skills Toolkit. To reinforce learning, the course will include use cases, scenarios and decision points as well as quizzes to track progress. 

Assessment and grading

The assessment will be done using decision-making scenarios and use cases. A final assessment (scenario-based quiz) will be needed. A total score of 80% or higher is required to obtain the ITU badge of completion.
