ESCWA
National digital accessibility policy in Libya

To bridge the digital divide and enable equitable access to information and communication technologies, ESCWA, in partnership with the General Information Authority (GIA) in Libya, organized on 28 January a hybrid workshop to support national stakeholders in implementing the National Digital Accessibility Policy.

The workshop brought together representatives of public institutions involved in the development and implementation of digital policies. Participants learned more about the National Digital Accessibility Policy and discussed with experts the modalities of its implementation.

They were also introduced to key concepts related to digital inclusion and accessibility, the role of emerging technologies in advancing digital accessibility, as well as international best practices and technical guidelines on its policies. The workshop concluded with an outline of the main features of the implementation action plan.
