Diplo at Swiss IGF 2025
In the spirit of the Swiss IGF’s multi-stakeholder and bottom-up approach, Diplo’s Anita Lamprecht has organised a session titled ‘Code, Copyright & Competence: From Disruption to Transformation‘ to discuss the most pressing questions raised by the population of Switzerland in the Call for Issues 2025.
What is driving the Swiss population in 2025?
At the intersection of innovation, technology and economy, the core questions surfaced:
How can a positive digital transformation be achieved?
How can we balance innovation, technology and economy with governance?
Moderated by Tereza Horejsova (DiploFoundation), these questions will be discussed from different angles based on the short opening statements and impulses by four speakers:
- Laeteita Ramelet from TA-Swiss will highlight how a holistic, societal perspective can strengthen the interplay between innovation and regulation, using TA-Swiss studies on deepfakes and the new digital franc as examples.
- Daniel Dobos from Swisscom will take participants to the heart of Swiss innovation and economy with the latest project from Swisscom, featuring Swiss-made AI.
- Poto Wenger from SUISA will discuss the specific impact of AI on the music industry and what rules are needed to protect our cultural foundation.
- Finally, the debate will turn to Future-Ready Competencies. Anita Lamprecht (DiploFoundation) will deliver a presentation titled ‘AI Apprenticeship and lessons for the AI era: Is Switzerland leveraging its greatest strength to transform its economy, legal system and technology?’. Lamprech will raise the question of whether Switzerland is maximising its educational strengths to prepare for the AI age and how the apprenticeship model is the way forward.
