The WSIS Forum 2026, to be held from 6 to 10 July in Geneva, Switzerland, will convene stakeholders from across the globe to accelerate progress in digital cooperation. Participants will exchange knowledge, showcase innovative solutions, and engage in inclusive dialogue to develop roadmaps that advance the WSIS Action Lines and contribute to global development objectives. Co‑organized by ITU, UNESCO, UNDP, and UNCTAD, in partnership with more than 50 United Nations entities, the Forum continues to serve as the world’s leading multistakeholder platform for digital development and emerging technologies.

As part of the WSIS+20 review process, the United Nations General Assembly recognized the central role of the WSIS Forum as a global platform for advancing the WSIS vision. Through resolution A/RES/80/173, the General Assembly acknowledged the work of ITU, in collaboration with UNESCO, UNCTAD and UNDP, in establishing the annual WSIS Forum.

Over the years, the WSIS Forum has evolved into the principal platform for the exchange of information and best practices, the promotion of inclusive multistakeholder dialogue, and the strengthening of networks and coordinated initiatives in support of digital development. It remains the primary mechanism for reviewing progress on the WSIS Action Lines, gathering multistakeholder input, and guiding the development of their annual roadmaps. The General Assembly underscored the enduring importance of the WSIS Forum and called for its continued annual convening.
