WEF on Latin America – E-Commerce: Expanding Trade Horizons

During the recent meeting of the World Economic Forum on Latin America, which was held in Sao Paulo, on 13-15 March, a special session was held on e-commerce. The session, entitled “E-Commerce: Expanding Trade Horizons” aimed at addressing the following question:

The expansion of e-commerce offers new markets for SMEs and entrepreneurs, and is poised to drive inclusive growth. What top challenges are ripe for international collaboration?

The session allowed to get  the latest insights on global e-commerce from e-payments to trade in digital services, from these high-level speakers: Roberto Azevêdo-Director-General, World Trade Organization (WTO), Demetrios Marantis-Senior Vice-President, Global Government Relations, Visa Inc.,  Jeff Kratz-  General Manager, Latin America, Canada and Caribbean, Amazon.com, and  Jean-Claude Ramirez- Managing Partner, South America, Bain & Company Inc.
