Showcasing African products for an international market

It was a chance conversation with a friend, bemoaning the lack of availability of natural African products outside the continent, that first inspired Senegalese entrepreneur Birame Sock to start Kwely. The digital marketplace for natural African ingredients, from food items to cosmetics, links local suppliers with international consumers. While still in its infancy, the business is already meeting demand in the United States, Europe and beyond for the best of what Africa has to offer. Birame Sock joins Making a Difference to talk about her start-up and her plans for Kwely’s future.
