On 17 June, SPC and UNCTAD are organizing a Talanoa session on the role of data in the digital economy of the Pacific. This webinar will provide the opportunity for policymakers, national statistics officials, development partners, academia and private sector representatives to learn more about the region’s approach to digital transformation, data collection and measuring of the digital economy. Leading partners and stakeholders in this area will discuss critical challenges to harnessing data for value creation and evidence-based policymaking in the Pacific.

The webinar precedes an online training on the production of digital economy statistics that UNCTAD and SPC have organized for national statistical offices (NSOs) in the Pacific. This training is part of the Pacific Digital Economy Programme and will take place from 20 June to 15 July.
