The United Nations Conference of Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in cooperation with the Ministry of ICT, Innovation and Youth Affairs, is organizing two days of multistakeholder consultations on 22-23 November 2021 as part of the eTrade Readiness Assessment currently underway.

The Government of Kenya, the private sector, civil society, academia and development partners will discuss Kenya’s e-commerce readiness and share their own challenges in key policy areas such as institutional frameworks, ICT infrastructure, payment solutions, trade facilitation and logistics, legal and regulatory frameworks, e-commerce skills development, and access to finance. Challenges related to inclusion of specific segments of society such as women, youth, and persons with disabilities in e-commerce activities will also be addressed. Findings of this assessment will contribute to the development of Kenya’s National E-commerce Strategy.

The eT Ready of Kenya is the 30th conducted by UNCTAD, and is supported by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
