Harnessing intellectual property rights for innovation, development and economic transformation in the least developed countries
The UNCTAD secretariat has the honor to invite member States to participate in a webinar on harnessing intellectual property rights for innovation, development and economic transformation in the least developed countries.
The session will explore how the least developed countries can use intellectual property protection strategically to stimulate innovation and development, and craft regimes and systems for intellectual property rights that help to build productive capacities, enable technological upgrading, boost trade and investment and drive economic transformation.
As part of the webinar, UNCTAD and the Commonwealth Secretariat will officially launch a joint report that provides further analysis and policy guidance on the potential of intellectual property rights to support sustainable development in the least developed countries.
Member States are invited to register online in order to receive the link to the webinar.
